Beatbox

Right, this is just a quick beatboxing experiment we did in one of our first tutorials. The idea was just to get us used to playing with the timings and speed of clips in Apples iMovie. I'm not particularly proud of the outcome, but for the purpose of the exercise I learnt what I needed to.

Space Jam

Right, this is just some previous work i've done. These were both part of my A Level course. For the production company logo at the beginning of Tempus i used 3D Studio Max and followed a few basic tutorials on www.tutorialized.com. The poor attempt at green screen was done using Final Cut Pro, again using the aforementioned site for help. I created the green screen in just 3 hours with a makeshift background set up in the 6th forms main hall. Any comments would be great. Oh, and sorry about the poor quality of YouTube.

Hopes and Fears of University

My Hopes and Fears of University

Tom Mayes

Okay. So naturally, like most people, I’m going to start with the positives and tell you about all my hopes of University, and I’ll also throw some bits about what I want to achieve in there as well. My main hope is that I’ll enjoy my time here, I don’t see the point in choosing to do something if you don’t either enjoy it or have a genuine desire to do it, and in my eyes they’re both very closely linked. I also hope to have a successful time here, creating a high quality and varied portfolio to help me find work once I leave. I don’t really have many fears, I guess one would be about whether I picked the right course or not. I’ve always had a larger interest in the video based side of media. Directing, editing, camera work and pre production. But I chose to take this course because I was hoping it would implement these, but also look to the future more with up to date animation techniques. I was hoping it would also help me understand these ideas more; helping me to have a firmer grasp of them so that I recognise what can and can’t be done.
